AS an experiment I am just throwing some things into our 5 quart Crockpot.
1 lb of organic grass fed beef (thawed and chopped into chunks)
1 1/4 cups of mixed gourmet beans
1/4 cup of the following:
Dried onion
Dried carrots
Dried celery
Arborio rice
6 cups or water (no broth on hand)
Put it on low for 10 hours.
We want to start rotating foods better and eating a more balanced diet based on what we know to be good for us. This is not a food pyramid or my plate meal. I am fixing something more like our ancestors would.
My kids only requirements are no mushrooms :(
Will report back tomorrow how it went for lunch.
